Summary

The Nucleoplasmin Like Protein, NLP and its paralog NPH (brown) form a hetero-pentamer that co-localises with clusters of centromeres in Drosophila. STED superresolution microscopy revealed that NLP (green) and different centromeres (red) form distinct domains with little overlap allowing unprecedented insights into the substructure of centromere clusters.
