Marston Summary During cell division the chromosomes line up in a way that increases the chances that the daughter cells will each inherit one copy of each chromosome after cell division. This study shows that proteins known as shugoshins assemble a "hub" on a region of the DNA called the pericentromere that monitors the lining up of chromosome for accurate cell division.
