Summary

Oleic Acid (OA), a monounsaturated Omega-9 fatty acid, augments processing of microRNA-7 primary transcript (pri-miR-7-1) by inhibiting binding of negative regulatory factors (HuR and MSI2) to pri-miR-7-1. Our results show that OA can regulate microRNA biogenesis by remodeling RNA-protein complexes.
