Public Engagement - January 2024 IVF Research Glass Exhibition Goes Public You may have spotted the beautiful glass artwork in the foyer of the Swann building. But did you know that it is the centre piece of an exhibition based on the work of the Marston lab (in collaboration with the McAinsh lab at Warwick University)? This main piece was made by a local artist, David Mola, after discussions with fertility researchers and patients, and represents the fragility and the delicacy of both the IVF and research processes, with many failed attempts, but hope and life growing from them. It is complemented by 15 stunning glass tiles, made by the researchers themselves, which communicate some facet of their reproductive health research. Image The full exhibition, a SWEA funded collaboration project, made its first public outing at the Central Library in Edinburgh last month. Lucy Munro from the Marston lab joined Muriel Erent, Cerys Currie and Aleksandra Byrska from Warwick to spend the morning chatting to library visitors about the artwork and its links to their fertility research. It then moved to the EICC where it was displayed for 4 days at a fertility conference, being much admired by delegates and helping draw visitors to research zone.
