From cores to peripheries

Cross-linking and mass spectrometry provide the distance constrains between yeast transcription factor IIF and RNA polymerase II that allow docking a model of a transcription factor fragment onto the crystal structure of Pol II and extend the core complex of the transcription machinery towards its peripheries.
