Paul Kersey

Paul gained a PhD in molecular biology and went on to lead a team in researching genomes.

I obtained my PhD from the University of Edinburgh in 1995, working on the molecular biology of the cell cycle of fission yeast with Peter Fantes.

After postdoctoral research in the MRC Human Genetics Unit in Edinburgh, I obtained an MSc in Computational Biology from the University of York in 1999.

I then moved to the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) to work as a database programmer. The EBI is Europe's leading provider of bioinfomatics services and data to the scientific community. My interests there have been focused on the integration and presentation of data concerning species with completely deciphered genomes, and I now coordinate a team of about 6 people developing our activities in this area.
