Explore the follow-up staff survey results, impacts of Covid-19 disruptions. The Covid-19 pandemic caused unprecedented disruption in all parts of life since March 2020. The School of Biological Sciences wanted to further understand the current and anticipated impacts on our staff so we could plan how to support them better by undertaking a further follow-up survey to cover the period July 2021 to November 2022 to complement the initial survey that was undertaken in July 2020, and the follow-up survey the year after. About the Survey The survey ran from 14 October 2022 until 15 November 2022. 155 responses were received (74 less than the previous survey), accounting for only 26% of the School staff population. 64% identified as female, 31% identified as male and 5% identified another way or preferred not to share their gender. 49% were academic and research staff, 41% were professional services or those in technical roles, and 10% were in tutor or demonstrator roles. Results You are invited to explore the survey results in more detail through the key themes represented by the report attached below. While asking almost all the same questions as the initial survey and the follow-up survey in 2021, this survey continued to focused on the two main themes that were apparent from the initial survey results, academic outputs and mental health. We also focused on where people think they are in terms of progress and workload. It is unlikley that the School will run a further survey on this topic and will now focus on working on areas raised from these surveys.
