The Edinburgh Earth Initiative (EEI) is now accepting proposals for Earth Fellows research projects for the ‘24/’25 academic year These can be research project related to climate and environment that is suitable for a postgraduate or PhD student to work on for 9 hours a week for 9 months. New UoE seed fund launched with Cornell University Edinburgh Global is offering a third round of competitive grants in collaboration with Cornell University. Proposals must include a PI at both UoE and Cornell and can be from any discipline. Successful proposals will receive up to $5,000/£4,000 from each university. Deadline 04 October 2024 Una Europa Starter Funds Funding (up to €10k) to support the initiation of collaborative activities in any disciplines between partner universities and Freie Universitat Berlin. No deadline. BioEquip, SBS equipment funding scheme The SBS BioEquip funding scheme exists to provide funding for equipment at the School. It aims to provide an organised objective process that enables acquisition of equipment that benefits a broad number of users and would otherwise be difficult to fund. Colleagues wishing School financial support for acquisition of equipment, either directly or through matched funding on a grant, should apply for funding through this scheme. The focus of current research discussions between Edinburgh and Rice includes energy, robotics, healthcare, and space and satellites but we welcome quality applications from all disciplines.
