This project began in October 2004 and ended in October 2007. The main aim of the project was to encourage and support the use of e-Learning tools in courses falling under the Biology Teaching Organisation (BTO). We have: Developed a template for WebCT which we recommend all courses use to help keep areas consistent (and easy to find information on) and so it is easier for us to provide support when required. Set up a web-site providing documentation for staff on how to use WebCT (primarily built around the template). Set up a web-site providing documentation for students on how to use WebCT course areas. Run various training sessions for staff on different tools available. Collected staff feedback on the provision of eLearning tools in the School. Collected student feedback on provision of eLearning tools in the School. Put a lot of the course information into a database which feeds both WebCT course areas and the student intranet (and some of the public web-site). Planned a process for standardising course books so they follow the same consistent layout as the course areas do. Started to help Honours courses (not in our original remit) get started with WebCT. Supported staff and students where necessary with technical problems. This article was published on 2024-06-17
