LGBT+

LGBT+ Bio is a social group and welcoming space for students and staff that identify as LGBTQ+ and Allies from School of Biological Sciences and their friends to share conversations and catch-up. You are welcome to invite people from all Schools and professional services at the University.

We usually meet towards the beginning of the month, keep an eye on the student newsletter for details. If you'd like to be part of the organising group for LGBT+ Bio please contact us using biologystudents@ed.ac.uk who will pass on the email.

Students wishing to connect with other LGBTQ+ students are invited to join the Pride Society. 

As part of its wider Equality and Diversity strategy the University is committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming community where staff and students are enabled to meet their full potential and are treated as individuals. This includes providing support and understanding to those individuals who wish to take, or have taken, steps to present themselves in a gender different to their birth gender.
