Information on projects, elective courses and final degree classification. In Year 4 (Senior Honours), students specialise in one Honours programme having already had substantial experience of the subject in Year 3. This year almost always involves a major research project (60 credits), where students can explore the frontiers of knowledge in their chosen subject. Students are required to complete another 60 credits of SCQF level 10 courses - the final degree classification is based on marks in Years 3 and 4. Honours Projects Programmes have a common Year 4 structure: Core courses and elective courses - assessed using in-course assessment, an examination, or both. Research project - assessment may be subdivided into component parts. Sessions for critical skills and project skills development. Synoptic assessment. Honours Electives The details of the required core courses and your elective course choices will be detailed in the Biology Teaching Organisation Senior Honours Guide. Honours Guides Results from Year 3 (Junior Honours) and Year 4 (Senior Honours) contribute 1:2 for your final degree class. (For students who spent the Junior Honours year abroad, and for students on the intercalated programmes, the degree class is based on the Senior Honours year only.)
