How do I choose my courses?Pre-registration for courses in the next academic year normally takes place in the Spring. We will contact you when this opens. Pre-registration allows us to update your courses on Euclid over the summer, and to allocate you to practical and tutorial groups before the semester begins. You can still update your course choices after pre-registration if you change your mind.Choosing your CoursesWhen can I make a course change? You are free to change your mind about your courses: After pre-registration When your Student Adviser confirms your attendance at the beginning of the academic year In the first two weeks of semester - after this you will have missed too much. If you would like to change courses contact your Student Adviser or the Biology Teaching Organisation (BTO). Contact the BTOGroup Changes Many classes are split into smaller groups for practicals, tutorials and workshops. You will be allocated to groups for these activities. Requesting a group change Occasionally you may find that you have a clash with another course, or that one of the alternative groups would work better for you. In these circumstances, you can complete a Group Change Request form. Request a Group ChangeAdvice on completing the formCheck when the alternative groups meet - this should be available in the course book. Note that group allocations on MyTimetable will be updated more quickly than your Office 365 calendar, particularly during the first few weeks of semester. Ensure that you enter the correct course details when completing the form – you must first select the School that delivers the course. Course codes starting ‘BILG’ are delivered by Biological Sciences; those starting ‘CHEM’ are delivered by Chemistry. If you have any questions about changing course or requesting a group change then please contact the Biology Teaching Organisation.
