How you may obtain feedback on your exams.
Marks and feedback
The marks for your exams will become visible on your student record when your final course result is published.
The process for viewing any feedback will depend on the course and the format of the exam.
- Exam scripts are usually retained for 1-2 years by the BTO.
- If you failed an exam, and would like to review your failed attempt in order to understand where you went wrong (to help to prepare for a resit), you should contact the course administrator in the first instance.
- If your exam was completed on paper scripts, BTO staff would first need to be located as exams are marked anonymously (and reassembled if it was taken apart to distribute to different markers), so please allow time for this to be done.
- Note that we do not permit students to view MCQ sections of an exam, only written components.
- If your exam was completed on computer, we will need to download your script with any comments that the marker has added.
- Usually you will be offered an opportunity to view your exam script in the BTO or in the office of the Course Organiser. You will be able to read through it, but not take any photos or scans. The exam will then be retained by the BTO.
- For some courses, a script review session will be organised for all students, and we encourage you to attend if that is the case and take the opportunity to learn from any feedback provided to you.
