Information on the University's Degree Programme Tables and Specifications - the regulatory framework for programmes of study.

The Degree Regulations and Programmes of Study sets out the regulatory framework which programmes of study are governed by, and the guidelines that govern the general context of students' academic career at the University.

Degree Regulations and Programmes of Study

Students must comply with any requirements specific to their degree programme, as set out in the Degree Programme Tables (DPTs) and the University's Taught Assessment Regulations.

Degree Programme Tables

The Degree Programme Table (DPT) sets out the normal regulated path for a degree, showing compulsory and optional courses.

Students will follow the curriculum for their chosen degree as set out in the DPT, selecting optional courses in consultation with the Programme Director.


The Degree Programme Specification (DPS) outlines: 

  • A programme's aims 
  • What students will learn
  • How students will be assessed
  • What skills and knowledge they will develop

Assessment regulations

The Assessment regulations set the minimum requirements and standards for students and staff, expressing in practical form the academic goals and policies of the University.

Path is a programme and course builder tool designed by students. Its features include: 

  • Visual representations of the degree pathway
  • Reviews of course changes
  • Displays of prerequisite courses
  • Timetable generation
