Details of the School’s Media Preparation and Wash-up facilities. Image We have four School Media and Wash-up Facilities at Kings Buildings, ensuring a comprehensive and efficient service is maintained and received by users.The facilities are used by more than 500 regular users within over 100 research labs throughout the School.Media Image We provide various growth Medias for use in Biological Science research labs at Kings Buildings, this includes:Buffers,Broths, andplated and bottled agar Medias.We also make Fly Food media in our Swann and Ashworth facilities to aid in drosophila fruit fly research.Wash-upOur Wash-up service ensures laboratory waste, both liquid and plastic, is collected, sterilised, and disposed of safely.We also provide a daily comprehensive glassware replenishment service, which keeps labs stocked with sterile bottles flasks, pipettes, and other laboratory consumables.SustainabilityWe are striving to improve sustainability throughout our service and have seen results in improving our water consumption and minimising single use plastics.
