Image Analysis Workshop 2025

This three-day course aims to cover basic image analysis techniques including an introduction to deconvolution, image processing, image segmentation (including using machine learning methods), colocalization analysis and macro writing. The course will mostly focus on the use of open-source software (eg. Image J /cellpose) but an introduction to some of the commonly use commercial software available in the LMC, and other, facilities will also be included.

The course combines theory and practical sessions covering Brightfield, Fluorescence and Confocal microscopy,  and Image analysis, as well as more advanced methods including  Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence Microscopy (TIRFM),  Super Resolution Microscopy, Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy and the  C-Trap Optical Tweezers.
