This funding aims to promote mobility between Scotland and European research partners with the aim of strengthening existing, and seeding future, research relationships. Congratulations to Marah Jnied, a Darwin Trust PhD student in the lab of SynthSys PI, Dr Edward Wallace, School of Biological Sciences, who has been awarded a SULSA Saltire Emerging Researcher Award, Marah's project is, "The role of the conserved RNA- binding virulence factor Ssd1 in localisation of its target mRNAs and their protein products." Marah plans to travel to Dr. Evelina Tutucci's group at the Free University of Amsterdam to learn methods of single-molecule RNA microscopy.
