About the EastBio Doctoral Training Partnership. Image EastBio is the East of Scotland Bioscience Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP). It was established in 2012 with funding from the UKRI Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), which is part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). Our partnership comprises the institutions along the East coast of Scotland, a key region in the UK for life sciences in terms of both academic excellence and industrial support and investment. Training We deliver world-class interdisciplinary training to bioscience PhD students and to build vibrant interactive student cohorts. In addition to providing enhanced training to our students, the partnership offers outstanding opportunities for collaborative research, access to expertise and research facilities across the institutions of the East of Scotland. EastBio Training Partner institutions EastBio is a partnership of five universities, Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Stirling and St Andrews, plus the Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC), Moredun Research Institute, Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC), The James Hutton Institute and associate partners Cool Farm Alliance and SULSA.
