Our programmes

From Biochemistry to Plant Sciences our programmes span the breadth of Biological Sciences.

The School of Biological Sciences, part of the University's College of Science and Engineering, has one of the largest concentrations of biologists in the United Kingdom, with a wide range of disciplines and around 200 new undergraduates enrolled each year. Our teaching is based upon our phenomenal research strengths, meaning you are taught by scientists of international repute. This leads to some great opportunities for you to gain new knowledge and skills from teaching in class as well as through self-driven learning such as projects, practicals and field work. These skills equip you to go on and thrive in whatever you choose to do after University.

What can I study at the University of Edinburgh?

Depending on your progress at your Chinese university you may be able to study one of our 12 degree options.

Before choosing one of our Bachelor of Science (BSc) programmes of study, you should find out if the programme of study you are taking in China fits in with ours. If you are in doubt, please ask our Recruitment Officer, Rona Lindsay, bto.recruitment@ed.ac.uk.

The links below will take you to the Degree Programme Table (DPT) for each programme. These show the courses our students take, you can click on the course name for more information. Please note, the DPTs will be updated each year that you study at Edinburgh, so individual courses within programmes may change for future years .
