The Centre for Cell Biology (CCBio) brings together researchers to overcome key unresolved challenges in cell biology. The vision of the Centre for Cell Biology (CCBio) is to build synergy between researchers across the University in the field of Cell Biology. Researchers at the CCBio work closely with the Discovery Research Platform for Hidden Cell Biology, a key feature which facilitates exchange between researchers in CCBio and the technologists in the DRP-HCB, who provide world-class expertise and cutting-edge technology. Discovery Research Platform for Hidden Cell BiologyThe resulting synergy will provide the combined skill sets necessary to overcome key unresolved challenges in cell biology. Realising our Vision The CCbio is focused on three intersecting themes with demonstrable strength in research across the University:Decoding the genome: gene expression, epigenetics and proteoformsGenome stability and inheritance: cell division, mitosis and meiosisCellular decisions: drug resistance, differentiation, adaptation and stress responsesThe CCBio holds regular themed events, as well as broader events, shaped by the CCBio community to strengthen collaborative interests and support networks. The CCBio represents the strengths of cell biology research in Edinburgh through our symposia, workshops, and internet profile.
