The Centre for Cell Biology is a network of cell biology researchers and technologists in Edinburgh. An integrated research community The Centre for Cell Biology encompasses over fifty research groups from the Schools of Biological Sciences (SBS), Chemistry, and Physics, and the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine (CMVM).Together with the Discovery Research Platform for Hidden Cell Biology (DRP-HCB), we are developing innovative experimental and computational approaches that make previously intractable questions in cell biology accessible. Governance CCBio currently operates under the leadership of the Director Adele Marston, and Co-Director Dónal O'Carroll, with input from all CCBio PIs in the Michael Swann Building, who meet monthly. A key goal for 2026 is to establish a formal Executive Committee with representation from multiple Schools across CSE and CMVM. This structure will support transparent decision-making, strategic alignment, and long-term sustainability.Related linksPeople This article was published on Monday 1 June 2026
