Edinburgh Genomics - closure and relocation of activities

Edinburgh Genomics will close on 4th January 2026 as part of a move to consolidate services, technology and expertise within one facility at the University.

Genomics expertise and services are now available from the University of Edinburgh’s Genetics Core facility:

Genetics Core

This will create an enhanced, resilient and world-leading genomics service with experts from across the medical, veterinary and biological sciences fields.

As part of this move Edinburgh Genomics ceased running projects on 31st October. If you have a query about historic projects ran at Edinburgh Genomics, please contact: genomics@ed.ac.uk

For future sequencing projects please contact: genetics_core_sequencing@mlist.is.ed.ac.uk

Short and long-read sequencing projects

We are now able to receive samples for Illumina and long-read NGS projects. If you have an active project or a newly activated one, we will be in contact with you regarding sample delivery. Or get in touch with us by email.
