Welcome to the Malaguti Lab!

Leveraging synthetic biology to characterise cellular neighbourhoods

Our research group is interested in understanding how healthy cells in our bodies sense and respond to diseased neighbouring cells.

We study these processes in experimental models of development and cancer, by developing and optimising innovative engineering biology tools that allow us to identify and isolate interacting cells in real time.

We are affiliated to the Institute of Quantitative Biology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology, and the Centre for Engineering Biology at the University of Edinburgh.
