Removal involving specialist equipment and a working lab. Image The Workshop undertook a project to remove two large stainless steel optical tables from within a working laboratory. Image The tables were originally installed by craning them in through a removed window as the building’s lifts were too small to accommodate them. To remove them via this method would have been too costly, so the Workshop implemented a plan to disassemble the tables in situ. This involved the use of specialised cutting equipment that did not produce excessive heat and sparks, which allowed the lab to continue to function throughout the process.
