Industry Collaboration and Consultancy

Dr Annis Richardson is happy to discuss potential industrial collaborations and consultancy projects.

Potential opportunities include: 

  • Research-focussed experimental and data-analysis work
  • Expert literature and state-of-the-field reviews

  • Plant science communication
  • Scientific outreach
  • Event coordination

Projects can cover a broad range of topics ranging from analysis of a specific research question relating to cereal/ grass/ monocot development, genetics and engineering, to broader topics or skills offerings such as advisory roles in genetic engineering, to plant-science communication and media projects.

Dr Annis Richardson is also happy to discuss supporting independent applications to postdoctoral fellowship programs such as the MSCA Postdoctoral fellowships, EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships.

PhD Positions

Each year PhD positions are advertised for different funding programs based on residency status, educational background, and nationality. Check our News pages, and FindaPhD.com for active advertisements. Most positions are advertised in November / December.

Self-funded MRes students can start throughout the year, but we recommend aiming to start in October when other graduate students start their programs of study.

Undergraduate Research Positions

Motivated and enthusiastic undergraduate students are welcome to carry out a final year project or summer internship with us. If you are interested in our research, please get in touch! We always have project ideas, and these can be tailored to your interests.

 

For summer research placements, have a look at the funding opportunities available. We can support applications to programs such as The Genetic Society Summer Research Projects program.

 

For University of Edinburgh honours research projects, reach out to Dr Annis Richardson at annis.richardson@ed.ac.uk in the September of your 4th year, explaining why you are interested in the lab and what skills you would like to learn. We can write a project proposal together for a self-proposed project submission.
