Find out more about Ally, Personal Chair of Global Change Biology and group leader.

I am an evolutionary ecologist interested in inferring process from pattern, usually from the viewpoint of large spatial or temporal scales. Most of my work focuses on understanding how climate change will impact on species timings, interactions, fitness and population sizes.

Since 2014 a major focus has been on the effects of climate on the tritrophic food web involving trees, caterpillars and blue tits across 44 sites in Scotland. For more details of this study visit the Phenoweb website.
