Much of the research in disease ecology and evolution has traditionally focused on a one host - one parasite framework. And yet, in natural systems, hosts are usually co-infected by multiple parasites, and many parasites can infect several host species.
Our research aims to investigate this realistic, multiple host - multiple parasite context.
Using the wild wood mouse study system, we ask questions around host-parasite interactions, competition between co-infecting parasites, the host immune response, host behaviour, the rates of disease spread, and disease dynamics within a social network.
