Sarah Dobson

PhD student.

I graduated with an undergraduate degree in Ecology from the University of Edinburgh in 2020, and a research Master’s degree from Imperial College London in 2022. I have now returned to Edinburgh to commence a PhD focusing on sexual selection in red deer.

Using long term individual-level data from the Isle of Rum Red Deer Project, selection analyses and quantitative genetic techniques, I am investigating how sexual selection acts on males in wild populations, determining what morphological, behavioural and environmental factors make males successful at siring offspring.
