Recognition for Prof. Andy Baker through RSE Sir James Black medal

Hub academic Professor Andy Baker has been awarded a prestigious Royal Society of Edinburgh medal for his leading research in cardiovascular science.

This RSE award is in recognition for exceptional contributions to research across Scotland and a tribute to his pioneering research for advancing future treatments for heart disease.

Within our Advanced Therapeutics Hub, Andrew's lab is leading on applying engineering biology tools to cardiovascular disease. He is building on his research expertise in gene therapy, regenerative medicine and vascular biology and brings a valuable track-record translating fundamental discoveries into clinical applications.
